Owner Theresa Jensen has been helping diverse groups of people and organizations work together collaboratively to solve complex problems, resolve differences and make informed decisions for over three decades.

Education and Training

Owner Theresa Jensen received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and her law degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She is currently an active member of the Oregon State Bar, practices Collaborative Law, and is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst.

She has taken over 1500 hours of post-graduate training in Mediation, Facilitation, Consensus Building, Cross-Cultural And Large Group Conflict Resolution, Multi-Party Collaboration, Natural Resource And Environmental Issues In Mediation, Dispute Resolution Systems Design, Eliminating Power And Fear In The Workplace, Theory U: Leading from the Emerging Future, Bridging Political Divides, Non-Violent (Compassionate) Communication, and Family, Employment and Collaborative Law.

Experience as a Trainer

Theresa has designed and delivered trainings in mediation and facilitation skills, consensus decision making, non-violent communication, conflict management and interest-based negotiation for a variety of clients, including numerous state and federal agencies, Willamette University Center for Dispute Resolution, Martin Institute for Peace Studies & Conflict Resolution at the University of Idaho, Southern Oregon University, Portland State University, the State Justice Institute, the U.S. Postal Service in sites across the country, and private companies. She is well known for her highly interactive and participatory training designs, her thoughtful and clear presentations and on-the-spot demonstrations of mediation and conflict resolution skills, as well as her ability to create high levels of safety for participants

Work Experience

Jackson County Circuit Court Staff Mediator, Medford, OR, 2006 – 2011.

Founding Partner and Senior Mediator with Confluence Northwest, Portland, Oregon, 1988-1994. Public policy consensus building, facilitation and mediation of organizational disputes, consulting, training.

Private practice attorney and mediator, Portland, Oregon, 1986-1988. General civil practice, including employment law, administrative law (representing clients in unemployment hearings), working for the EEOC on contract doing EEO investigations and adjudications; contract lawyering, contract mediation and facilitation.
